RUTHENIUM
- Ruthenium is a chemical element with the symbol Ru and atomic number 44. Its atomic mass is 101.07 u. Ruthenium is a rare transition metal in the platinum group metals. Similar to other PGMs, ruthenium is relatively inert to most chemicals.
- Due to limited ductility, high hardness, high brittleness and high difficulty for machining, ruthenium is generally melted using electric arc or electron beam or manufactured via powder metallurgy process.
